Website: ninbvnportal.com.ng
These Terms govern your use of NINBVNPORTAL — a platform for verifying National Identification Numbers (NIN) and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) in Nigeria. By using this website or its API, you're agreeing to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Notice.
Don't agree with something below? Please stop using the platform.
This service exists for legitimate identity verification only — never for fraud, impersonation, or unauthorised access. Misusing it is a criminal matter under Nigerian law, not just a violation of these Terms.
NINBVNPORTAL operates under the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Act 2026, which replaced the older 2007 Act. Under this law, nobody may access, verify, or process someone else's NIN or BVN without that person's clear consent.
By using this platform, you:
The 2026 Act raises the stakes considerably compared to the old law — custodial sentences and higher corporate fines now apply to fraudulent registration and unauthorised access. Breaching the consent rule above is an offence under this Act and related data-protection law, and may carry these tougher penalties.
Any illegal use may lead to suspension, a report to law enforcement, and civil or criminal action under Nigerian law.
Before submitting a NIN or BVN for verification, you must:
You are personally responsible for every action taken through your account or API key. NINBVNPORTAL is not liable for damages arising from checks run without lawful consent.
Breaching this clause exposes you to civil and criminal liability — including action by NIMC, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), or other authorities, up to the stronger penalties introduced under the 2026 Act.
The platform is meant for legitimate identity verification, KYC compliance, onboarding checks, and personal data validation carried out with consent. You must not attempt to bypass security controls, resell or redistribute data from the API, harvest data at scale, or otherwise infringe on anyone's privacy.
We operate under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. Data moves through the platform encrypted and authenticated by token, and requests are only processed where both a lawful purpose and the data subject's consent exist.
We don't hold on to, share, or sell personal data beyond what's needed to deliver the service and meet our legal obligations. Full detail — including retention periods and your rights under the NDPA — is in our Privacy Notice.
We work to keep the platform available around the clock but can't promise uninterrupted access — maintenance and external factors can cause downtime. We aren't liable for losses tied to service interruptions.
Fees are shown clearly before you pay. Once a verification has been completed successfully, it isn't refundable. Fraudulent payment attempts are reported and may lead to immediate suspension.
NINBVNPORTAL is an independent verification intermediary — not NIMC, and not a government body. We don't create, own, or alter official identity records; we simply provide a secure channel to confirm data that already exists.
As a result, we:
You agree to indemnify NINBVNPORTAL, its team, and partners against any loss, claim, fine, or legal cost arising from your failure to obtain consent, your breach of the NIMC Act 2026, the NDPA, or other applicable law, or misuse of the API or platform. Liability from unlawful use rests with you.
Fraudulent verification, impersonation, or any criminal use of the platform is strictly forbidden. Violations result in permanent suspension, blacklisting of the associated credentials/IPs, and referral to NIMC, the NDPC, and the EFCC where appropriate.
We may suspend or close any account that runs unauthorised checks, breaches these Terms, or submits fraudulent requests — without notice, where we believe there's legal or reputational risk.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the appropriate High Court.
We may update these Terms as laws or our services change. Material updates will be posted here, and where needed, we'll ask you to re-confirm acceptance before continuing to use the platform. Continued use after a change counts as acceptance.
By using this platform, you confirm:
