Overview

NINBVNPORTAL provides NIN and BVN verification and related identity services. This notice explains, in ordinary language, what happens to your information when you use the platform — what we collect, why, who it's shared with, and how long we keep it. It's written to comply with the NIMC Act 2026 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

Information We Collect

How We Use It

Strictly to:

We do not use your NIN/BVN information for marketing or any purpose outside the specific request you made.

Retention

How Long We Keep It

We hold verification requests and consent records only as long as needed to deliver the service, satisfy audit or legal obligations under the NIMC Act 2026 and the NDPA, or resolve a dispute. Once none of those apply, the data is deleted or anonymised on our normal schedule. You can ask us to delete data sooner — see "Your Rights" below — unless we're legally required to keep it.

Keeping It Safe

Cookies

We use cookies to remember your preferences, keep the site running efficiently, and understand overall usage patterns. You're free to disable cookies in your browser, though some features may work less smoothly.

Third parties

Who Else Sees It

We share only what's strictly needed for each of these to do their job, and we never sell your data.

Important

We Are Not NIMC

NINBVNPORTAL is an independent service and is not NIMC, nor any arm of the Nigerian government. We act purely as a verification intermediary, giving you a secure way to confirm records already held by NIMC and partner banks. We don't create, own, or change any official identity record.

Your Rights

Under the NDPA, you can:

If Something Goes Wrong

Should a data breach put your rights at risk, we'll notify you and the NDPC within the timeframes the NDPA requires.

Updates to This Notice

We'll revise this notice as the law or our services evolve. Meaningful changes will be flagged here, and where required, we'll ask you to re-confirm your consent before continuing to use the platform.
